The Issue

We, the undersigned residents of Saskatoon, respectfully urge our city officials to reconsider the approval and hosting of the upcoming Sean Feucht concert in our community planned for August 21, 2025 at Diefenbaker Park

This event is not just a concert. It is a politically motivated rally disguised as a worship gathering, led by an individual known for spreading harmful rhetoric that puts the safety, dignity, and inclusion of many in Saskatoon at risk.

Why This Matters:
Sean Feucht is not simply a musician. He is a highly public political and religious figure who has:

  • Used dehumanizing language to describe 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, calling them “demonic” and “twisted,” portraying queer and trans people as threats to faith and society
  • Referred to supporters of reproductive rights as “slaughterers,” using inflammatory language to stigmatize and incite
  • Promoted Christian nationalism, suggesting that only Christians should write the laws and govern the nation – a direct rejection of democratic and inclusive values
  • Weaponized religious gatherings to push a divisive political agenda, using phrases like “taking ground” in cities across North America
  • Disregarded public health guidelines during the pandemic
  • Faced ongoing scrutiny regarding financial practices and lack of transparency within his organizations

This Is About More Than One Event
Allowing this event to take place in Saskatoon sends a troubling message: that our public spaces are open to being used as platforms for hate and exclusion.

Would our city permit an event that portrayed religious individuals as dangerous or evil? Then why are we allowing space for someone who frames queer people and their allies in that exact way?

Several Canadian cities including Halifax, Vaughn, Moncton, Gatineau, Charlottetown, Winnipeg and Quebec City have already revoked permits for these events. What message does it send about Saskatoon if we allow it to go forward here?

What We Are Asking:
We call on the City of Saskatoon to take a clear stand for:

  • Ensuring public spaces remain respectful and inclusive
  • Protecting marginalized communities from targeted hate
  • Upholding democratic values and pluralism

This is not about limiting freedom of belief or expression. It’s about ensuring our city does not become a stage for messages that fuel hate or discrimination.

Please sign below to stand for a more respectful, welcoming, and inclusive Saskatoon.
