Community Dayz Servers Need their "VOIP" Back!
Why this petition matters
Dayz is a game enjoyed by countless People all over the world. Its Open world survival aspect also has been a magnet for content creators all over the world. Many people have used the Game to make Youtube Series' and creative content that has brought even more people to the love the game.
A big part of this is the interactions that you get via the in game proximity chat called VOIP (Voice over internet protocal). People use in game recordings to make videos of interactions and to make content based off of these interactions.
With the latest update of the Game they removed the ability to make content like this by, making the VOIP not able to be heard in the recordings or Stream. This has put a huge damper on the ability to make content, but mostly enforce rules on said servers.
Currently community servers are able to be rented through Nitrado, an outside server hosting Company, and people can make the servers private as to filter who can and cannot play on their server. People are paying hundreds of Dollars for these community servers so they can create a non toxic environment for people to play and enjoy the game. Community server have countless purposes that all require Rule enforcement. RP servers or Role play Servers are where people can be creative and create a character that they can play as and act out scenarios. Many Record or Stream these interactions and some even make Video series' based on their Characters experiences. Player versus Player is where the players are able to play in a competitive fashion , to player versus environment is more Survival based where players can have more of a relaxed environment to enjoy the game and the things it has to offer. While PVP and PVE servers can heavily rely on Xbox's party chat. The Role Play Servers are heavily reliant on the Proximity chat to give a more realistic, "immersive" experience. Most of these "community servers" have their own set of Rules enforced by the Owner and the moderators they put in charge. When rules of the server are broken people are asked to "take a clip" or recording of the instance so the rule break can be examined. This helps keep Toxic players who ruin others gaming experience, out of the servers.
Bohemia Interactive was asked about this and responded.
"The current state is the way it is supposed to be as required by Microsoft in order for the game to be available on the Xbox platform."
We would like to bring back our VOIP. We propose to Bohemia interactive and Microsoft that they implement an Option for community servers to decide whether the VOIP in their server can be recorded or not. This can also be accompanied by a disclaimer with the Server. If the Official servers need to remain the way they are currently set up that will be understood as the are hosted by Bohemia and are Public for anyone to Join. Community servers on the other hand are rented by private individuals we believe that they should have the option to choose whether or not the VOIP is able to be recorded.
Thank you
