Community concerns about the creation of an HMO at 168 Bridge Avenue
Community concerns about the creation of an HMO at 168 Bridge Avenue
The Issue
An HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) is currently being proposed at 168 Bridge Avenue, with potential for six individual units in a mid-terrace property.
By signing this petition, you are agreeing that this change will have several negative impacts on our community and urging Ealing Council to consider our objections seriously.
Concerns:
Parking and Traffic: The introduction of parking restrictions and increased traffic in the area has already caused significant congestion, particularly during peak times. The addition of an HMO with up to six units will exacerbate these issues, impacting the safety of school children and the ability of public transport to navigate the area.
Inconsistency with the Character of the Area: The proposed HMO is inconsistent with the character of our neighbourhood, which is primarily made up of long-standing residents. The transient nature of HMO occupants would disrupt the stability and sense of community that we currently enjoy.
Environmental impact: The need for an industrial bin or additional bins to accommodate the waste generated by an HMO and increase in bulky household waste items would be unsightly and could contribute to litter and other environmental issues.
Impact on Water and Sewerage: The existing water and sewerage systems were not designed to support a mid-terraced property with multiple ensuites. This could put pressure on the systems and result in issues for neighbouring properties.
We respectfully request that Ealing Council consider the negative impacts outlined above when considering any relevant applications.
