Why is someone with an EXTENSIVE criminal history (especially pertaining to businesses and housing) on NYC's Community Board 1?

Scammer Gary Schlesinger was personally placed there by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, unassumingly,  in exchange for campaign favors. But knowing Gary, he is always thinking about what it will take for him to earn another criminal payday.

A few of the reasons for concern:

- Gary personally sought to shut down the Broadway Triangle development, trying to take away necessary affordable housing. 

- Gary stole money from the SBA for via a fraudulent loan for a company named "Foodland MN"

- Purposely stole loan from Newbank, used the money to open up ParCare. Let the blame fall on his sister's credit.

- Allows racist sentiment and hate language directed at African-Americans to be facilitated on his Facebook page.

- Removed a Stop Order issued by the city, continued constructed. Never reprimanded.

- Slandered the character of fellow Jewish businessmen who operate a rival business. 

Is this someone you want making delicious about what developments get the green light, who is allowed to build in our neighborhood, and how much affordable housing we all need?

Not to mention, Gary has been tweeting a series of very unconventional articles that deal with housing.

One tweet suggests labeling basements as affordable housing, effectively sticking poor families into basements.

Another picture pokes fun at those less fortunate than he is, insinuating anyone making under 2,700 has to sleep on a sponge.

Another article he posted shares the details on a Kent-ave development. One person commented claiming the units are too small. Gary as tone-deaf as ever, regurgitated his old fake line from the Broadway Triangle, “Perfect for newlyweds.”

Imagine what to expect in the future! Even less housing, even less families with a roof over their head?

We for one don’t want that in our community. We stand for everybody having an equal voice, everyone being able to talk to their elected official.

The housing harassment has to stop. And Gary must go.
