Community Appeal for Fair Consideration for a Nassau Community Member

Community Appeal for Fair Consideration for a Nassau Community Member
The Issue
To District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly,
Respectfully; We the undersigned residents and community members, respectfully call on your office to ensure a fair, evidence-based review of the case of Mr. Avraham Bilgoray.
We hold deep respect for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office and its longstanding commitment to justice, integrity, and community safety. Our hope in bringing this matter forward is rooted in that same trust — that every individual receives a fair evaluation based on verified evidence.
Mr. Bilgoray has presented extensive documentation supporting his innocence, including dash-cam video, GPS and phone records, sworn affidavits, and a successfully completed polygraph. Yet, it appears this new information has not been fully reviewed in the context of the most recent allegations.
Our request is simple: that your office take a moment to reexamine the evidence carefully, in good faith, and with full consideration of all available facts.
This appeal is not about criticism — it is about fairness, due process, and upholding the values that make the Nassau County justice system one of integrity and accountability.
Case Background (For Public Awareness)
Since a disputed allegation in 2019, Mr. Bilgoray has faced a series of arrests tied to an order of protection issued amid a difficult divorce.
The repeated accusations and resulting detentions took a severe toll, leading to a suicide attempt and months of treatment at Westchester Behavioral Health. In an effort to move forward, Mr. Bilgoray entered Nassau County’s TAPP (Treatment and Alternative Prosecution Program), agreeing to three years of probation in exchange for a clean record upon completion.
For nearly a year, there were no issues.
However, just 24 days before completing his TAPP program (Treatment Alternative Plea Program), he was arrested again based on a new allegation. His former spouse claimed she received a threatening call at 1:16:40 AM to 1:17:00 on January 14, 2025 — from a number Mr. Bilgoray had never seen and that had only recently been associated with her.
At that time, dash-cam footage and corroborating data placed him elsewhere. Additional affidavits and a polygraph further support his account.
Despite this, reports indicate Mr. Bilgoray has been offered a plea agreement of five more years’ probation or faces up to 3½ years in state prison — a serious outcome that could occur under the lower evidentiary standard of a probation violation hearing.
This situation raises important questions about fairness, context, and the consideration of exculpatory evidence.
We respectfully urge the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office to review all available materials thoroughly before any further action is taken. Our community’s faith in justice depends on decisions guided by verified facts and fair process.
