Stop Police Brutality- Black Lives Matter - Aberfeldy East London

The Issue

On Tuesday 9th July at 6pm, 38 year old  Youness Bentahar of Moroccan origin was arrested in an ultra violent manner, in the course of which he had a seizure and had be hospitalised. The police beat him up. Youness’s four year old son was severely traumatised  at what he saw and keeps repeating "They hit my Dad, they hit my Dad".
This is not policing by consent. This kind of policing is a direct consequence of Savid Javid’s decision in March this year as Home Secretary, to increase Police Powers on Stop and Search. With increasing racism in society and the racism endemic in the police force, this can only lead to more aggressive policing targeted particularly at Black men. We need to call the police to account.

We, Aberfeldy and Tower Hamlets residents, demand:
* The police officers involved are suspended immediately
* An investigation by the IPOC with clear outcomes
* A meeting at City Hall with the family and representatives from the Community to discuss how to take this further
