We Airmen who lived and worked supporting the 347th throughout its long history at Moody Air Force Base (AFB) are disheartened to see the lack of mention across the base, particularly the Air Park. Therefore, we petition to include the history and aircraft of the units that were part of a proud tradition of Tactical Air Command and Air Combat Command at Moody AFB since 1975. We ask that the legacy of the selfless men and women who served at Moody through the years and those who lost their lives while assigned, such as pilots Maj Essinger (F-4/Egypt), Maj Stuart (F-16/Moody), and Lt Col Bost (F-16/Moody) continue to be remembered. We also ask that the fin flash on the F-16 next to the Senior Airman Jason Cunningham Airman Leadership School be changed to "MY". The 347th, with its subordinate units, has a long history that goes back to a P-38 from the 339th Fighter Squadron of the 347th Fighter Group shooting down Admiral Yamamoto in World War II.
