The Covid-19 pandemic has created a less than ideal learning environment for college students across the country. Nonetheless, we have persevered through these unfortunate circumstances involving the abrupt transition to online platforms.  Unfortunately, during this ambiguous time, many of our peers have struggled with maintaining their overwhelming workloads as well as their mental health.

Should a pass/fail option be made available to CSU students, many students would benefit from earning credits for the courses they have struggled with online without the detrimental effects of a shaky semester weighing down their GPA. 

By allowing a pass/fail option this semester, it would alleviate a tremendous amount of stress that my peers and I alike are facing as this semester draws to a close and we begin to transition to a completely online format. A pass/fail option would greatly improve the mental health and wellbeing of many CSU students, as well as motivate them to complete courses that they may feel are hopeless to continue and receive credit for. 

I think it is also important to note that CU Denver has already committed to making sure their students feel comfortable with their education this semester by allowing a pass/fail option to ensure the success of their students this Fall 2020.
