"All Eyes Alert" for ALL missing children.

The Issue

Colorado, and the nation are facing an epidemic. Children are disappearing every day, especially along the I-25 corridor, which has been identified as one of the highest human trafficking areas in the nation.

Currently, we have "Amber Alert" system, which has very specific requirements in order to be issued. We also have a "Silver Alert" for seniors at large.  However, we do not have an alert for children who do not fit the exact criteria for an Amber alert, but who are still unaccounted for.  Often times, these children are considered "runaways", and due to that status, are not considered as 'endangered' or 'at risk'. The fact is that any child that is not safely at home with their family IS endangered and at risk. The streets are not a safe place for them.  Also, very importantly, just because a child may be 'reported as' or considered a runaway does not mean that is accurate.

As we are all aware, when any person is missing under mysterious circumstances, time is of the essence when it comes to the actions of law enforcement and other agencies that assist in finding missing persons.

I propose that an alert is created for any and all children (17 and under) that are considered missing. The communities of Colorado have proven to be very compassionate and have expressed a desire to help in any way we can to help find missing children. Awareness is crucial.

For these reasons, we implore you to initiate an alert for any missing child, regardless of the suspected reason. Please allow Colorado to be known as a state that cares about ALL of it's citizens, and doesn't turn a blind eye to the epidemic we are facing.

Thank you for hearing our voices and making this change!

~Sincerely, We the concerned citizens of the wonderful State of Colorado.
