The dress code at College Station High School dress code enforces the concept that children’s bodies are looked at in a sexual nature which ultimately enforces rape culture in our school. Daily, girls have their attention pulled away from their learning to change or alter their clothes. Students should have the right to choose what they wear and go about their day without being sexualized. Our bodies are not a distraction, the dress code has to change. Changing our dress code to eliminate rules about the length of shirts with leggings, sleeveless tops, and ripped jeans would allow people to be more comfortable and empowered in their school environment. It’s important to teach everyone their right to freedom especially in an environment we are required to be in. Please sign this petition to make a change.
