In the pursuit of preserving one of the most visible traditions of excellence at Texas Tech University, Duane Hill has served as the Assistant Director of Bands and Interim Director of Athletic Bands for two years. As an undergraduate student, Duane served as a Drum Major of the Goin' Band from Raiderland.

Since that time, Mr. Hill has fostered strong partnerships with Tech Spirit Squads, the Department of Athletics and the Division of Undergraduate Education and Student Affairs. Through these partnerships, students involved in Mr. Hill's ensembles have seen increases in funding for game day meals, apparel for Court Jesters and greater institutional support.

Mr. Hill's commitment to developing strong student leaders, engaging the community and upholding the rich tradition of Tech's largest and most visible spirit organization is precisely the kind of steady leadership our students need. For these reasons, it is clear to us there is no better candidate to assume the role of Associate Director of Bands permanently than Mr. Hill.
