Allow students to submit their AP responses!

Allow students to submit their AP responses!
The Issue
Hi. My name is Isabelle Kish and due to a technical malfunction on the College Board's website during the APUSH exam, I was unable to submit by work. My dad has been critically ill and hospitalized for the past few weeks and despite this challenge, I persisted in preparing for my AP exams because I wanted to achieve my goals of earning college credits. Now, due to a technical issue on the College Board's website, I am going to have to continue working during this incredibly stressful time in my life to prepare to re-take the exam in June. I know that I am just one of thousands of students who could not submit their completed work for a number of reasons, including the "submit" button just not working. We have all dedicated countless hours to prepare to take these AP exams during an already stressful time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Today, the College Board announced that starting May 18, students who suffer technical issues and are unable to submit their exam responses will have the chance to email their responses to the College Board immediately following the exam in lieu of submission. This is an excellent way to resolve tech issues going forward. However, this option is not being offered to students who suffered technical problems prior to May 18th and it is incredibly unfair that the College Board did not have a measure like this in place since they began testing. At the very least, they should have employed this policy after the first student suffered a technical issue. Due to their lack of preparedness, students such as myself will have to retake the AP exams in June. This is incredibly unfair since we were all studied and prepared to take the exams in May. Many of us who tested before May 18th still have our work and responses saved. I still have my DBQ saved in google docs which is time-stamped and shows that I have not made any edits to my response since the exam finished. I also know that many other students have their work saved and time-stamped and some even took photos of their work and videos showing their inability to submit it on their exam day. Due to the College Board's lack of preparedness, they should afford students who tested prior to May 18th the same opportunity to submit their saved responses via email. They can employ the same methods to detect cheating as they would have had our responses gone through successfully. Please sign this petition so that the College Board can rectify their mistake and allow students to re-submit their work. Thank you so much and please share this petition with as many people as possible!!
