Palestinians have been living under Israeli apartheid for more than 50 years. It’s one of the world’s longest running human rights abuses. Israel illegally occupies Palestinian lands, building illegal settlements, damaging crops, destroying water sources and arming violent Israeli settlers who terrorise Palestinian families. This past month, more than 8,000 Palestinian children have been killed by the Israeli army in a relentless bombing campaign, to drive Palestinians off their land in Gaza. 

The Obela food company is complicit in these human rights abuses. The Obela brand is owned by a company called Strauss Group, which supports the Israeli army. The Strauss Group is one of the biggest food companies in Israel. It funds Israeli agriculture on occupied land, while Palestinian farmers are harassed, detained and killed by the Israeli army. 

Since the horrific recent attacks on Gaza, thousands of Australians have marched peacefully in the streets. Australians are calling for peace, ceasefire and an end to the occupation of Palestine.

Now we’re calling on our two biggest supermarkets to end their support for Israel’s occupation and stop selling Obela hummus and other products. Boycotts are a nonviolent way to push for change!
