Chickens are kept in horrible states and living conditions such as complete darkness, tight metal cages and no source of freedom, sunlight, exercise etc. It is such a disgusting and detrimental process just to receive eggs that we use to eat. Free range eggs have been a new and better way of sourcing eggs as the chickens get free range, sunlight, exercise and socialisation. All egg industries should follow that protocol. Just because the animal can’t talk, does not mean it has no feelings.
