Coca-Cola Kills: The Cancer Behind Caramel Coloring

Coca-Cola Kills: The Cancer Behind Caramel Coloring
The Issue
Hello, my name is Casey Kroll and I was recently drinking a Coca Cola when a question popped in my head: "Why is this popular soda, brown?" I searched up my question on the internet and was shocked with the result.
Coca Cola uses Caramel Coloring to make their drink the color it is. This dangerous system of coloring the soda contains 4-Methylimidizole (4-Mel). The FDA has labeled 4-Mel as a dangerous, artificial chemical and possesses the threat of cancer. A recent study shows that 5000 new cases of cancer may arise due to the large intake of 4-Mel.
So, how can this petition make a difference? Well, there is an alternative to this highly dangerous chemical: Sensient Food Colors. Sensient provides a natural, 4-Mel free, caramel coloring for beverages. Coca Cola can stop using 4-Mel and start using natural coloring.
Everyday, 1.8 billion bottles of Coke are sold. That's a staggering amount of people being exposed to a threat that could be avoided.
You have a choice: Cancer-risk caramel coloring, or natural (cancer-free) caramel coloring. When you learn about this, the choice is obvious. Problem is, so many people don't know about it and what they are putting in their body.
Newcastle Brown Ale, one of the most popular beers in England, has recently stopped using caramel coloring. As people complained, the company realized that they could still sell well with a healthier alternative. Most importantly, however, was that they weren't providing a major health risk to their buyers. If Newcastle, run by Heineken (an 11 billion dollar company) can take out their caramel color, so can Coca-Cola.
Even Coca-Cola realizes that it is a problem. Last year Coca-Cola reported that they would lower the levels of 4-Mel in their products. Why lower them, when you can simply take it all out?
As America drinks a beverage that could kill them, please help me in spreading the message to have Coca Cola stop using caramel coloring and start using Sensient Food Colors, a healthier alternative.
