Don't Air SeaWorld Tragedy Video If It Goes Public

Don't Air SeaWorld Tragedy Video If It Goes Public
The Issue
On Feburary 24th, 2010, whale trainer Dawn Brancheau passed away doing what she loved, and since then, there has been a huge debate on wether or not the seven minute video of her death should be released to the public. Although both SeaWorld and Dawn's family have petioned the courts to not have the graphic video of her death be released, the judge has recentley ruled that they could not intervene in it's pending release even though right now, it can only be used during the current SeaWorld/OSHA hearings. However, if this video goes public, not only would it possibly be viewed on media outlets like CNN and ABC, but it could also land into the hands of radical extremists groups such as PETA, Humane Society of the United States, and Orca Project, for they could use this video to promote an anti-zoo agenda while exploiting Brancheau's death at the same time. This move to release a graphic video of a freak accident like that of Dawn's in 2010 is not only degrading to her friends, family and SeaWorld co-workers, but it also disrespects her memory on every level too. We must remember that Dawn died doing what she loved and would never want to see a video that would dishonor her memory go viral.
