As a Fellow student of CMS William.A.Hough High-school I have witnessed the unconstitutional “rule” that has been hammered on CMS High school students throughout the 2020-2021 and the 2021-2022 school year. The option to wear or not wear a mask has been quietly overlooked by teachers, coaches, students, principles and staff alike. From outrageously mandating a mask while playing sports, to mandating a student to wear a mask to, from and during the school day at all times. 

Now In the second semester of the 2021-2022 school year there is still an anti-optional mask mandate two years from the original Covid outbreak in Cornelius. With absolutely no student voice to be heard or the option to, and the unjust dictator like oppression roaming the halls of Hough any adult, parent or staff with any communion of mind (common sense) should see the reasonable anger coming from fellow students. Instead they have looked over this oppression for almost three years.

By signing this petition you are asking, doing and respectfully demanding this human right to be given back to us in a number of ways. 

Starting with, one: When you sign your name you are asking the CMS board “When will this mandate end?” 
Number two: By your signature you are agreeing to stand against this mandate and instead want optional mask use within CMS William.A.Hough.  
Number three: You have realized and/or witnessed, and have put up with this unconstitutional mandate for almost three years and are demanding for your voice as a student or staff to be heard within the Cornelius and William.A.Hough Community. 

Again this petition is not meant to inflict anger upon staff. As students we sadly know that our teachers and coaches are doing their jobs and will lose them if they speak up. It is instead to raise awareness to eventually show the CMS school board that we will not be silent and will no longer comply.
