When I was in Middle School, I was bullied relentlessly for not following the religion of choice for most of the students in Clovis, California. The worst incident was when I was blocked from exiting the locker room by the entire P.E. period while one of the students repeatedly punched my in the head. I put up my arms to block his blows, but did not retaliate. After more than twenty minutes, I found a gap in the wall of students and ran across campus directly to the principal's office to report the incident.

However, when I told him why I was being attacked, he told me, "With beliefs like yours, you should expect this sort of thing." and sent me back to class. The lack of safety was so bad at Reyburn Middle School that I begged my mother to move me to a different school. Only after I was attacked at a local park by a gang of six students (lead by the assailant from the locker room) did we move out of the district.

Then, a few months ago, I ran into him at a dinner and confronted him. A few weeks after confronting him, Clovis Unified School District contacted my mother and threatened us to prevent further complaints.

I am done being afraid of this despicable institution.

Please join me in petitioning Clovis Unified School District to fire Barry Jager and all faculty complicit with his actions, to apologize to all students they have harmed, and to change school policies so that bullies and abuses like these are stopped, instead of being condoned and exacerbated.
