Close nuisance business threatening our community

Close nuisance business threatening our community
The Issue
outside our windows furnished only with transparent window shades, seniors are met with dozens of people using and selling drugs, all under the nose of a residential building run by HomeRise, a non accountable corrupt taxpayer funded nonprofit supportive housing agency. The violence and chaos that ensue are a constant threat, and it invades the sanctity of our homes. It's unbearable to witness the degradation right beneath our windows, knowing that my safety and the safety of my neighbors is at risk.
HomeRise, the taxpayer-funded agency supposed to manage this property, is failing us. This organization, managed by re-entry workers, has consistently shown callous disregard for the well-being of the seniors and other residents who make this building their home. They lavishly spend our taxpayers' money on themselves while ignoring the criminal activity festering within their premises. We've been subject to their neglect while they are remiss in every way, except for their financial compensation embezzlement recently splashed across headlines. HomeRise is making us feel unsafe, even locked away behind what are now useless see-through shades.
This so-called agency is not part of the solution for urban revitalization as the corporate big money mayor and downtown advocates profess to be necessary here.
Instead HomeRise promises to be rather a significant part of the problem. We demand the closure of this nuisance business. At the very least it should close at 11:00 pm. as the other businesses that involve drug paraphernalia are forced to do in the neighborhood.
From 11pm to 6am the site is under complete control of dealers, buyers, addicts, and the violent element they attract. There are at least half a dozen pit bulls that live outside or windows nightly. The police presence is not available save for a onetime daily clearing of block at 6am for the sake of appearances for residents commuting. Such drug paraphernalia businesses shouldn't be allowed to operate where countless seniors live. Our homes should be places of safety and respite, not havens for rampant drug deals and criminal behavior.
We urge local government officials and city authorities to take immediate action against HomeRise and their commercial tenant a 24-hour store that attracts hundreds of unhoused addicts and thousands of dealers to one single block in front of the neglected property of Home Rise. Witness it for yourself by viewing the property especially between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
We plead for a comprehensive investigation into HomeRise's operations and the introduction of stricter regulations to ensure that tax payer supportive housing remains truly supportive of those who live there. We need a firm hand when it is clear that HomeRise is taking us in the wrong direction for a revitalization area instead returning us to blight rampant crime, and lawlessness. Clear crime from in front of this dangerous, mismanaged property by proven corrupt crooks like those at Home Rise Supportive Housing Agency. Restore respect, safety, and dignity to everyone involved by closing this business detrimental to the recovery of downtown and the mental health of low income tenants. San Francisco must begin a difficult process of relieving Home Rise of any housing responsibilities involving public money
