I am a resident of Dunswell, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, UK. Over the last couple of years the traffic and road rage down Dunswell Lane has increased massively and it now a major concern and risk to all who use the lane.

Over the last two months, my car has been damaged on multiple occasions due to the excessive traffic on Dunswell Lane, this is only in the last two months, there has been many other occasions of not only my own car being damaged but many others. This is not only a personal problem I'm facing, but a safety issue affecting the whole community. The increasing number of incidents not only affect property like cars but pose a threat to the safety of our children and pedestrians. 

As a thoroughfare, Dunswell Lane sees high volumes of vehicles each day, including lorries and tractors, with some motorists driving at excessive speeds and fighting to get down the street, which includes swearing, shouting, sounding horns and squeezing between cars resulting in damage being caused to parked vehicles. 

By making Dunswell Lane exclusive to residents, we can ensure a safer environment for our community. The precedent has been set in other communities across the UK, showing tangible reduction of accidents and improved safety for all residents (source: British Road Safety Authority).
