Close down the recycling plant at manvers, due to extreme flies.
The Issue
For many of us who reside in Bolton upon Dearne and the surrounding areas, living in a clean and pleasant environment is a priority. Yet, despite our efforts to maintain our homes and village a local recycling plant has become a significant source of distress. This plant, unfortunately situated close to our homes, has led to an extreme infestation of flies, compromising our quality of life.
These swarms of flies are not just pesky insects; they represent a serious hygiene risk. As a resident whose house is in close proximity to this plant, I have experienced an increase in these unwelcome visitors for the last 9 years . The situation is intolerable—the presence of these flies is persistent, impacting our daily routines and causing health concerns. We are unable to enjoy our back gardens , host gatherings, or cook in peace without being hounded by dozens of flies.
We know the importance of community well-being and cleanliness, and we should not have to trade our home comfort for the activities of a plant that ought to be better managed. According to the Environmental health Agency (EHA) waste management facilities must adhere to strict guidelines to prevent pest infestations. It seems, however, that these regulations are not being effectively enforced at the recycling plant near our homes, leading to the current infestation problem.
We propose that the authorities conduct a thorough inspection of this recycling plant to ensure compliance with hygiene and pest control regulations. If the plant cannot adhere to stipulated standards and continues to pose a risk, it should be relocated to a more suitable area where it does not infringe upon residential areas.
Please join us in signing this petition to help close or relocate the recycling plant. Your support is crucial in restoring cleanliness, safety, and peace to our neighborhood. Together, we can make a positive impact by taking this step towards a healthier living environment.
