The Cleveland State University's College of Graduate Studies mandatory dismissal policy was temporarily suspended for the spring and summer 2020 semesters as an accommodation to challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The policy is back in effect for fall 2020. As we all know that the pandemic is still at its peak and a lot of students are struggling with their academics, We want to request CSU Ohio to keep the dismissal policy inactive till the course is held online. 

During the online courses, it is hard to seek help from peers, labs are available online, and teachers can guide only through virtual rooms. In this situation, a lot of students like me are struggling with assessment, studies, and academics. If the dismissal policy is made active, students with poor performance may need to leave the course. This is more frightening for international students because it will cancel the f-1/j-1 status and they will be forced to go back to the home countries. It will not only be trauma but a financial disaster for them. 

I request all to please consider the situation and sign the petition. The more number of people signing the petition can make CSU Ohio understand the impact of the policy in the pandemic situation.
