Make Clemson Refund Fees and a Portion of Tuition

Make Clemson Refund Fees and a Portion of Tuition
The Issue
Due to the unforeseen coronavirus, we the students of Clemson University find ourselves kicked out of housing, denied pre-paid meal plans, and receiving less-than-ideal education from home. Another student has initiated a campaign for housing and dining refunds, so this petition will focus on everything else. We pay a laundry list of fees every year for on campus amenities. These fees, along with a portion of tuition, must be prorated and returned to students in the wake of this crisis. They include:
Campus Recreation Fee ($90): As we no longer have access to campus recreation and have been asked not to return to Clemson if possible, we must be refunded for the portion of the year remaining as of March 23, 2020.
Technology Fee ($119): Again, we no longer have access to campus computers or technical assistance, and must be refunded for the portion that we are not receiving.
Health Fee ($182): We do not have access to Redfern for the rest of the year, we deserve to have this fee prorated and returned.
Library Fee ($100): We no longer have access to the Library.
Activity Fee ($40): We no longer have access to campus activities.
Parking: Given that many of us paid for parking passes that we can no longer use, we deserve to have a portion of our money returned to us, varying on a case-by-case basis by the type of pass we bought.
Finally, despite the best efforts of the wonderful Clemson faculty, online classes are not what we paid for, and we deserve to have the cost of tuition prorated and returned to us to some extent, taking into account the limited Clemson experience we are now getting. As we did not pay for online schools, we deserve to have the drop in quality taken into account.
In this difficult time, many Clemson families and students are suffering and such a reasonable refund would do much to lift the burden and stress from Clemson students everywhere. This is no less than basic justice, and we the students ask Clemson administration to step up to the plate for the Clemson family in these trying times.
