CLEMENCY PETITION FOR BENYAMIN HALEVI

I am writing this letter to support the release of Bernardo Martinaj, DIN # 02-A-3170, who has served 25 years of a 37 & 1/2 years to life sentence for accidentally taking a life. I would like for you to grant him "Conditional Commutation" of his sentence, so he can be deported back to Albania.

Benny is an exceptional individual, who has taken an exceedingly punitive sentence, and turned it into an opportunity for radical self-improvement. During the course of his incarceration he has made it his life's mission to gain the education he did not receive on the outside, achieving both his Associate's Degree from Cornell University, and his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the College of Mount Saint Mary; he assists local high school teenagers to avoid prison, thru the Youth Assistance Program (YAP); is a Teacher's Aide (GED); assists other prisoners navigate the criminal justice system (Paralegal); is a Dog Trainer; Transitional Services Administrative Facilitator; an Inmate Grievance Administrative Clerk; licensed and certified by the Environmental Protection Agency to be a Led Paint Remover and as an Asbestos Remover; Food Handler; Academic Librarian; is the President of the Jewish Organization and the President of the European American Organization; simultaneously learns Hebrew and Mandarin on top of being fluent in Albanian, English, French, Italian, Spanish and German.

Benny is clearly a man who matters to his family, and who has achieved the near-impossible task of being a source of support to them in spite of his incarceration. He has transformed himself into a man who takes responsibilty for his actions, and is now mindful of how his actionshave impacted everyone around him. Upon his return to Albania he plans to open an orphanage called Orphan Kids In Need Of Love [O.K.I.N.O.L., a 501 (c)(3) Non-Profit Organization] to serve the needs of orphaned children. For these reasons, we strongly believe that Bernardo Martinaj should be granted his freedom, so he can take care of his elderly mother.

NOTE: ***NO DONATION REQUIRED***
