The Long Fight for Justice The Curtis Tucker Story

The Issue

Curtis Tucker 56 years old has been wrongfully incarcerated for 33 years by NYS.  Curtis has maintained his innocence from the time he was arrested till the present day. Curtis was taken away from his family at the age of 23 years old. Curtis has always felt sympathy for the lives that were lost and harmed as one victim was like family to him. Throughout his unfortunate incarceration, Curtis was responsible for raising money for children of inmates, sickle cell, AIDS, foundation, coached, referee basketball, baseball, and football. Curtis spent 27 years in one prison with no incidents of getting in trouble but was known as a peacemaker and problem solver. The one thing that Curtis continued to do under the circumstances was maintaining a healthy relationship with his two children who were 2 and 3 years old when he was taken away from them.  In addition to his two children, he has a wife who has stood by him from the beginning. Two bonus children, three grandchildren which he has yet to meet outside of prison walls, two younger brothers, and his mother who has never left his side.  Curtis has languished in prison amidst the pandemic we know that Curtis meets every guideline for clemency as we continue to fight to clear his name.  Curtis is well-loved in the community that he was raised in.  He is missed by friends just as much as his family who continue to fight for his freedom. Curtis has been an outstanding incarcerated individual throughout his unfortunate wrongful conviction. Curtis is known to his family for bringing them together. Curtis's wife, mother, brothers, children, and grandchildren need him home.  Curtis should be granted clemency to build a relationship with his grandchildren on the outside of prison walls.
