Clemency for Glenn Metz serving 3 lives + 1st time non violent offender.
The Issue
This petition is a formal request for support in granting Presidential clemency for our father, Glenn Metz Sr. He is a first-time, non-violent offender who was convicted in a drug conspiracy case, receiving three life sentences and an additional 70 years. Our father has been incarcerated for 32 years, taken from us as a 36-year-old and now aged 68. He had no prior offenses, not even a traffic violation.
He is a father of five, a grandfather to fourteen, and a great-grandfather to one. He is also a devoted brother, uncle, and nephew, but most importantly, he is a man of faith who openly acknowledges his past mistakes. If you speak with him, he takes full responsibility for his actions, yet he, like everyone, deserves a second chance to make a new impression.
We know he has changed because of the impact he has on those around him. Many inmates have shared how our father has positively influenced their lives, saying things like, “Your dad changed my life,” or “He’s the reason I’m involved in church.” He has introduced many younger men to faith, guiding them away from choices that could lead back to prison.
The suffering he has endured has been overwhelming. He has missed all of his children’s graduations, the birth of each grandchild, his daughter’s wedding, and perhaps most painfully, he couldn’t be with his family when his mother passed. For the past three years, he has been in a medical facility due to health issues since COVID-19. We ask you to join us in signing this petition as we work to bring our father home.
