This is a petition to CLECO to increase the allowed kWH rate range on all three tiers in order to reduce financial strain on customers. Please only sign if you are a Cleco Power customer! 

The current tier pricing levels raise energy costs over 150.00+ per month minimum based on your usage.

Each 1000 KWH of third tier pricing equals $100.00 cost to the customer.

In a pandemic that has caused job loss, a hurricane that has caused financial loss with high deductibles and repair costs, raised gas prices and commodities, and the decline of personal income, this energy increase has come at a time when most people are struggling to survive and put food on the table. The general public is taking on the cost of businesses that are essential for daily living while businesses are passing on their increases to those who can LEAST afford it.

This is not just a burden on your customers. It will be a burden for CLECO, as customers will be forced to delay payment, force disconnects, possibly lead to home foreclosures and other financial difficulties. CLECO will be forced to sue for unpaid bills, incur untold legal costs, and other legal action as may be deemed necessary, which again will be prorated out to customers who can pay.

Added cost such as storm restoration, fuel charges, infrastructure all add up to an incredible financial burden.

So we gather signatures to bring this to the attention of the Louisiana Public ServiceCommission, as well as CLECO.
