It is kind of sad for San Diego being known as America's Finest City because of how much trash there is here. The first reason why we should clean the trash from the highways and streets is because that trash may start on the highways or streets it will slowly make it way to the ocean which can hurt the sea life.  Over 1 million sea animals die each year due to trash in the water.

The second reason why we need to keep the trash off of the highways and streets is because one of the most littered item in the word is cigarette butts and about 2 billion pounds of butts are tossed aside annually which means there is a lot of people who do not want to find somewhere to properly dispose of this item.

The third reason that we need to keep trash off the streets and highways is because trash is unsightly and it makes our city look ugly.  How can San Diego keep the name Finest City when it doesn't look very nice.

The fourth reason we need to keep trash off the streets and highways is because it can be a health hazard to both people and animals.

The way that you can help keep all of that trash out of the water, streets, highways, and parks. is by stopping trash from getting in all of those places and more is by throwing your trash in the trash can, holding on to it till you can find a place to properly dispose of that item, use items that say compostable, and one more way that you can keep the trash from getting in those places is by use reusable items. And that is why I think we should clean all of the trash from highways and streets and show that we really are America's Finest City.
