Help! Axolotls are in DANGER of being Extinct!

The Issue

Hello, I am twelve year old Eva Sanchez. I love animals, and an extraordinary animal is in danger. Axolotls are in serious peril, as they are now part of the critically endangered category. This adorable amphibian is facing extinction. Why do we care? Well, axolotls are fascinating creatures that can benefit us in the medical department. Following, these smiling creatures can regenerate body parts, which scientists are already observing in laboratories. Not only can the axolotl regenerate limbs, but they can also regenerate their lungs, heart, jaws, spines, and miraculously parts of their brain. Conservationists and scientists have discovered that axolotls can regrow limbs superbly without a scar. Every tissue of the body part is fixed, skin, bone, cartilage, muscle and cells. Axolotls can regenerate limbs and organs repeatedly, with each time they working perfectly. Scientists would like to study these amazing  to try to apply that to the medical field. In the future, medical professionals and scientists can possibly harness this ability, and use it to help those who need limb and organ transplants. Axolotls could revolutionize medicine, and save countless lives! Besides this, it is now discovered that they can resist cancer 1,000 times better than mammals! Besides that, axolotls are unique and interesting creatures, and are only found in Lake Xochimilco, Mexico. They are a national icon, and it's hard not to fall in love with the cute critter! Unfortunately, they are threatened many things, including; invasive species introduced by farmers, sewage in dumped in the lake, and the reduced size of the lake. Also, people illegally sell them as pets, even though they are critically endangered. Restaurants in Japan serve them as delicacies, whilst they are almost extinct! Therefore reader, I ask you to please consider this petition, that will possibly go to the mayor of Mexico City, and council. This could possibly save one of the most remarkable, beneficial and adorable creatures on Earth!
