“Enough is Enough,” said Brian Tamaki as he marched against Civil Unions in 2004.                                     

And after 21 years of Tamaki and Destiny Church continuing to rage against the very concept of queer people existing in Aotearoa, it is time we turn his message back to sender.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Tamaki and his cohorts are radicalising young men against a shadowy bogeyman concept of queer people sneaking into their homes to steal their children away in the night, while accepting their tithes and avoiding tax.

Call me old-fashioned, but “Charity” to me means helping the community. Aside from stress-testing the floors, I’m not sure what community assistance was achieved by the recent storming of a community centre.

Destiny Church is not a charity. They should not be allowed to continue (as they have for decades) to spend tax payer dollars yelling at queer youth, assaulting staff at community centres, vandalising council property and generally spreading their agenda of hate.

While it may sound ambitious to call Destiny Church a Designated Terrorist Entity, they are what the law defines as such. In the last year alone, they have incited enough terror to have not one​, not two​, but three city councils shut down community events.

To simplify how our government classisfies terrorist acts, a terrorist act must either
(a) intimidate a population; or
(b) coerce or to force a government or an international organisation to do or abstain from doing any act.

Our city councils have failed too many times, they have been coerced and their hands forced by our favourite local cult, and honestly I know a lot of intimidated people.

Our politicians need to Man Up and call a Spade a Spade
