This year, Class 9 students started a brand-new syllabus without the books to study it.

The 2026–27 session began on 1 April. Students were told the books would arrive by mid-April, then by August. The Class 9 Maths Part 2 book got released only on 21 September, and Social Science Part 2 on 30 September, after mid-term exams had already begun. For six months, students, parents and teachers were left guessing what to study.

Next year, these same students write their Class 10 Board exams. Board marks decide stream choices, admissions and scholarships. They stay on a student's record for life. A delay like this year's, in a Board year, would be unfair to lakhs of students.

We request that:

1. All new Class 10 NCERT textbooks, for every subject, both parts and all mediums, be published online and in print by February 2027, before the session begins.
2. CBSE release the Class 10 syllabus, exam pattern, sample papers and marking scheme for the new books by May 2027, so students know exactly how they will be assessed.
   
   
3. NCERT publish a clear, public release calendar for each Class 10 book, and share updates if any date changes.
   
   
4. If any book is not ready by April 2027, that subject continue under the existing syllabus for the 2027–28 Board exams, so no student is examined on a book they never had.

We support the new curriculum. We simply ask that students get their books before they are asked to learn from them, and certainly before they are examined on them.

A Board year gives no second chances. Sign now so this year's mistake is not repeated. Every signature tells NCERT and CBSE that students deserve their books on day one.
