Currently, Clarkston High School's courtyard is barren (spare a few trees and an unused walking path). For this year's Project Citizen, our group has decided to try to change this by showing the school and its administrators that this space could be very useful if given the right tools and by setting aside a reasonable budget towards its renovation. 

For now, this petition is just for a school project between three seniors in Mr. Schwab's Civics class. But, we truly do believe that this problem has gone on for far too long. Schools in surrounding districts as well as our own have taken advantage of their outdoor space by providing a safe space for learning, relaxation, and a place for students to gather in nature. The Clarkston Junior High School even uses its outdoor space to conduct events for the public, such as its student speeches for veterans on Veterans day each year. We think that with a little public attention and a cut of the school's budget, high school students in Clarkston can enjoy these benefits as well as many others. Thank you!
