I hope you are a bit familiar with the great restoration project currently going on in Sequim. Leo Goolden, a British Subject and professional Shipwright was given the opportunity to restore Albert Strange’s most famous yacht, Tally Ho. The Albert Strange Society assisted in what ways they could.  He was given a location to begin the project, but the remainder of the incredible effort was up to him.  It is a world-class effort that would cost millions were it to be done at a big yard, but Mr. Goolden is doing it as a labor of love.  His YouTube Channel currently funds the project.

He has showcased many of Port Townsend’s fine craftsmen and businesses, especially the foundry.  You may note that his principle master shipwright operates with two prosthesis for his lower limbs and feet.  It doesn’t slow him down and he is such a great example of how one can overcome a substantial injury with both strength and humor.

His quarter million or so subscribers willingly donate their money to help ensure his success.

Unfortunately, the Clallam County Department of Community Development has taken a dim view of late when it comes to Mr. Goolden and his enterprise and is in the process of asking him to leave.  It has reached a bit of a head recently and he is asking for some time so that he can complete the decking prior to moving Tally Ho to a more hospitable location.

I am asking for your support that he be given the time necessary to do this for his sake and that of his multitude of fans around the world.
