Clean up Britain's beaches

Clean up Britain's beaches
The Issue
We need to do more to clean up Britain's beaches. People sefishly dumping litter is destroying sea and marine life. It has come to a crucial stage where if we do not act soon we will have nothing left to save.
- Tourists and beach users have awful attitudes when it comes to rubbish and this has a catastrophic effect on sea and marine life.
- Sea animals often eat microplastics because of their small size. This can be damaging and cause illness and low fertility.
- Microplastics, abandoned fishing gear and other plastic pollution are among our biggest environmental threats. It’s hurting sea animals and making them sick.
- If governments could identify ways of protecting biodiversity in the seas, then it might be possible to profit from oceans and protect sea and marine life.
We need to take action immediately;
- Reduce plastic pollution by preventing it entering the sea.
- Introduce new biodegradable plastics
- Public awareness campaigns about marine protection.
