OH GUESS WHAT!!!!! WE WIN!!!!!!! without even doing a thing!! We will be deciding if we even want to do the hearing..!!!
The City of Wood Village has always encouraged homeowners and business owners in the City to maintain their property in a neat and attractive manner. We do this to improve the livability of the community and to help keep property values in the city at an acceptable level for everyone’s benefit.
The Haunted House structure located on the front of your property has not been constructed in compliance with the Wood Village Zoning & Development Code (ZDC) or Building Codes:
1. ZDC Section 220.380(1). Attached accessory structures are allowed in the Multi-Family (MRS) zone “If attached to the primary building or separated by a breezeway, accessory structures shall fulfill the front, side and rear building setbacks of the primary building.”
2. ZDC Section 220 Table 220-3. The allowed Garage setback is 22’ and side setback is 5’
3. ZDC Section 380.030 C. Temporary buildings require a public hearing through the City’s Planning Commission to permit the use. The use must meet all the requirements listed in this code section.
4. No permit application was submitted to allow for plan review by the Building Inspector before construction began.
You must remove the Haunted House structure within 30 days of this notice (November 6th, 2014) to avoid enforcement action and civil penalty.
