Grant a temporary permit for a free Halloween Home Haunt
This petition made change with 151 supporters!
Scare Hollow halloween home haunt has been providing free halloween themed entertainment for free to kids and adults in the Portland and Wood Village area since 2007. We are being asked by the City to obtain a temporay use permit for the haunt. The city states : "The structure is in required setbacks, and there is no traditional method to permit this use, except as provided in the "Temporary Uses" segment of the zoning and development code, sections 380.010 to 380.030. The building is located in a required front yard setback, toward the street from the front of the garage."
If they don't approve the permit on Oct 20th 2014 at 6pm, then we will be forced to take down the exterior portion of the haunt(the main parts).
We have taken several safety steps to ensure the publics and our crew's safety and security. We have fire extinguishers, 3 exits (one with a code emergency exit sign), a smoke detector, and mostly LED lighting with a few 25 watt or lower UL listed light fixtures.
As stated before we have done this for 8 years now and want to continue to do so.
By signing this petition, you support Scare Hollow and our endevour to provide a safe, fun and free halloween experience to kids and adults in a time when everything costs more then it should. Yo are also asking the Wood Village Planning Commission and City Council members to grant the temporary land use permit for Scare Hollow for 2014.
