Traffic Control Oxford Oaks

The Issue

We propose for the safety and well being of the homeowners and residents of the Oxford Oaks community, the city of Wildwood install a minimum of two stop signs on Oxford Oaks Lane to slow and control the vehicle traffic on the main thoroughfare.

We propose one four way stop be installed at the intersection of Oxford Oaks Lane and Thorne Path/Roz Way, and a three way stop installed at Oxford oaks Lane and either Midora Terrace or Soutar Avenue.

The installations of these stop intersections will prevent vehicles from using Oxford Oaks Lane as a direct through street, and hopefully assist the police department in controlling the speed through our neighborhood. As much as we appreciate the efforts of the police department, they cannot be expected to monitor the traffic on a continual basis. The initial cost to install these would be cost effective as compared to the cost of officer presence to control the speed.

We would urge the the council to evaluate the pros and cons of this request, as well as the cost effectiveness.
