Charges must be pressed against the individual who willingly drove their vehicle into the crowd of protestors. The community had to push for an investigation to be opened for this incident. It took public outcry for any progress to be made despite law enforcement receiving video evidence of the incident.
These videos make it clear that the driver had full view of the crowd from his position at the front of the Victoria intersection for several minutes before driving his vehicle into the protestors. This action took place despite protestors leaving a clear lane for traffic to pass. The videos also dispute the driver’s claims that he did not know his vehicle had hit anyone. One video clearly shows him accelerate his vehicle directly into an individual in front of his car and subsequently striking others in the process as he leaves the scene.
I demand justice for any individual who was directly struck by the vehicle or who suffers trauma for having witnessed this incident.
