The dump in Rooihuiskraal Centurion has not only become unsightly to residents of Ward 69 and surroundings but it is also now a health risk!

The CoT are unable to manage this facility and it is now negatively  impacting on residents and wasting much needed tax payers money. Property prices will also decrease drastically if this downward spiral continues.  Calls for the dump to be closed have fallen on deaf ears. 

This site has become a free dumping site for various refuse removal companies, from so far as Midrand, who charge their clients a premium for their services. Some residents also use this site to dump garbage which is further adding to the health risk. 

The dump has over the past years experienced numerous closures due to strike action (legal and illegal). People and business's then in turn start dumping on the streets around the dump which takes weeks to clear up. Not only unsightly but again a health risk and a waste of tax payers money. The CoT are left helpless when this happens and residents become the victims. 

The wall of the dump needed to be repaired 4 times last year due to the negligence by contractors

Mooiplaats, which is situated 10km from this site, is more than capable of handling refuse for the surrounding areas. 

The zoning of a refuse dump in a highly populated urban area needs to be re-looked. The wasteful  money used to keep this site operational could better be used in maintaining the ward and surrounding areas
