Keep BJ Beverly's 'Memorial Pole'

The Issue

As many of you know, we keep a beautifully decorated memorial pole located on E Main St in Springfield Ohio in front of Speedway, for our beloved and missed friend, uncle, brother, cousin, son, BJ Beverly, 15, who's life was tragically cut short the night of November 5th 2017. We have kept it up, weeded around the pole after the grass had been cut, change the posters when they start looking dirty, etc. It is a respectful memorium to him. Never trashy or distracting to drivers. We are not hurting anyone by keeping it up there but a few weeks ago the city of spfld tore it down because there "are just too many in town". BJs was the first to go after it had been well kept for the past 2 years now. There are "too many" dilapidated homes in our city, but those eyes sores are still standing. What is so wrong with having a tasteful memorial for our loved one so we can pay our respects and remember him since he's not buried in the ground? Please reconsider!!  Many people go to that pole to remember his life and think of the tragedy that happened that fateful night. This city needs to be reminded that this crime happened!! And hopefully our younger generation will remember his story and think twice about the path they're making in life. These streets will take u from the ones you love, no matter how much they think it won't happen to them, it can...
