The Immaculate Conception Church in Sparks, NV is designated as an Historical Site.  It  has been used and sold as a church, but is now owned by a developer.  The Reno/Sparks area had that small town attitude as it grew, until our current mayors in both towns were elected.  Their mottos seem to be "Change is good", "Big is better", and "nothing is as attractive as an asphalt jungle"!!  Developers have destroyed "The Biggest Little City" motto and "The Biggest Little City" and Sparks right along with it.  We are turning into a high rise buildings, high crime area, higher traffic counts than our streets and highways can't handle, high amounts of trash and garbage everywhere in town. Reno/Sparks is starting to look like a 3rd world country everywhere you go except for gated communities.  Homeless persons are living in every park, along the beautiful Truckee River, in the parking lots of every store, under every overpass, along the railroad tracks; and they deserve help more than some developer coming in and wanting to destroy the history of our cities and our State of Nevada.  Instead of a high rise apartment building with high rise rates that only the wealthy can afford, why not leave it as a church??   God welcomes everyone into a church.  We need more churches not less!!  They help the homeless!!
