Require a driver’s license for electric two-wheeled methods of transportation in San Diego
The Issue
Most people under the age of 16 that ride e-bikes have no clue what the road laws are, which in turn causes them to get into car crashes. And, let’s be honest, e-bike kids are downright rancid individuals that love to engage in nefarious activities such as cutting you off in the middle lane as they’re trying to move into the left lane. Now, you may be thinking, “Isn’t this an unfair reason to ban e-bike usage for people that don’t have driver’s licenses? All you said was that they get into car crashes, which you have no proof of, and you said they’re annoying. How is that a good reason to restrict them?” Well, my answer is that we live in a democratic republic you bumbling buffoon. If enough people don’t like what you’re doing it doesn’t matter what their reason for banning your wannabe moped is, because they’re the majority (That’s right, get trolled). This is why I am asking our county and city legislators to require driver’s licenses to ride e-bikes, much like the city of LA (As much of a hellhole as it is, their laws regarding two-wheeled electric methods of transportation are truly epic). Restricting e-bike usage to those with a driver’s license would also help the combat the obesity epidemic in the United States as using a regular bike requires moving the pedals with your many of your muscles, including but not limited to: Gluteus Maximus, Semimembranosus, Biceps Femoris, and Gastrocnemius Medialis. In conclusion, e-bikes are quite an excellent choice for traveling short distances, but should not be available for younger individuals that do not understand road laws, specifically those without driver’s licenses.
