Over the next few months City Council will re-write its strategic plan. It is vital that the public’s priorities be recognized and implemented.

In the existing Strategic Plan, Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation is the primary objective. Council recently agreed to switch from having this as an objective, to looking at it as a lens when identifying objectives. 

We, the undersigned, support the following objectives for the new Strategic Plan & Priorities for the City of Powell River:

• Increasing housing options
• Increasing economic development
• Average annual increase in residential property taxes limited to less than 4% for the next 4 years
• Maintaining infrastructure (for example fixing roads and potholes)
