Preserve the historic Sigma Sound Studios for use as a museum and tourist attraction

Preserve the historic Sigma Sound Studios for use as a museum and tourist attraction
The Issue
Sigma Sound Studios is a cornerstone of American culture, art and music history. This is the place where David Bowie came to work with John Lennon on "Young Americans" and "Fame", the place that gave birth to the world-famous "Philly Sound", and the place that helped launch the career of artists including Hall and Oates, The O'Jays, The Delphonics, Patti LaBelle, Teddy Pendergrass and The Roots to name a few. Countless notable acts have recorded at Sigma. In fact, according to best estimates every 11 minutes, somewhere in the world a song recorded at Sigma Sound is being played.
Unfortunately, the building that houses the studio has been sold with plans to turn it into a residential building. I believe that Sigma is an irreplaceable monument to American culture and creativity and should be preserved-perhaps as a museum to draw music enthusiasts and tourists the way landmark venues in Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans and Detroit do.
London would never destroy Abby Road Studios, Detroit would never destroy The Snakepit (the Motown studio) and neither should Philadelphia destroy Sigma.
It is my hope that by brining together fans with influential voices in the music community we may be able to achieve one of, or a combination of the following:
-Influence the new owners to preserve the studio for future use as a museum.
-Lobby local government to act to preserve the studio as a cultural heritage landmark.
-Find an angel investor willing to offer a sum to the new owners to entice them to preserve the studio
-Find another option that I have not considered.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support!
