Drain and cement State Road Park Pond to help forget about the nightmare that had been taken place there

The Issue

The morning of July 6, 2015 a few students decided to go to State Road Park after a football practice. A bet was made between two friends to have Sergey Pivovarnik, a junior student-athlete at Parma Senior High, to swim across the large pond. Sergey had gotten to the middle of the pond, and not knowing how to swim, he started to struggle and began to call out for help. A friend jumped into the pond to try to save the 16 year old but unfortunately couldn't get him out. The friends called 911 immediately when Sergey never came back up above the water. Search crews finally found and pulled the body after two long hours of searching. Over 100 people have come to leave candles, footballs, flowers, stuffed animals and more on a volleyball court next to the pond. Family and friends gathered and held hands for prayers. Hundreds of people have posted condolences online remembering Sergey. Sergey was a peer mentor, student worker, and all around great kid. He worked hard to achieve goals. He had torn his ACL a year before and couldn't play football, but this year he was determined to get that spot on varsity. He was a hard worker. Everyone knew Sergey by his smile that could light up any room. He could put a smile on anybody's face and everyone only knew him by his kind heart. Nobody could say anything negative about him as he was friends with everyone. This is a hard time for everyone in and out of this community. Going back to this park will never be the same for anybody. Only nightmares will be remembered. For respect of the family, friends, and Sergey himself, we are requesting to completely eradicate the pond as it is sickening to look at for everyone. Please help out Sergey's family and friends through this nightmare.
