Speeding on Kennebec Street in Northwood lake has been a horrible long problem. The speed limit on our neighborhood street is 25 mph. Unfortunately many people use our street as a cut through street and they speed. Recently my families precious fur baby got out of our fenced backyard and was hit by a vehicle speeding on our street. I understand accidents happen, but this could’ve been much worse. The children on our street can’t ride their bikes or play in the yard’s because there is fear of them getting hitting by a car. There is one area on Kennebec street that is known for speeding. I plan to go before the council and request a stop sign be placed at the bottom of the hill where the speeding happens all to often. It could have been my child hit by a car or someone else’s. Unfortunately my fur baby, Jack, passed away from his injuries. I am asking for signatures so when I go before the council at the next meeting I can present the petition for a stop sign to be added.
