The Fountain City Lake otherwise know as Fountain City Duck Pond has a history since 1885. It's been a historic place in Fountain City as well as Knoxville. It is a man made lake that was built into the shape of a heart and was made by a farmer who was professing his love to his wife. Kids and families have came from far and wide to feed the ducks, catch a few bluegill, or just to relax and admire its beauty ! Lately however it has become neglected ! Algee and trash has over run the pond! Duck feces all over the sidewalks! Vagrants and derelicts hanging out there instead of children and families. Druggies hang there now and even had a recent death in the parking area !! THIS IS UNEXCEPTABLE AND I ASK YOU TO SIGN THIS PETITION TO GET CITY OF KNOXVILLE AND/OR FOUNTAIN CITY LIONS CLUB TO CLEAN AND CONTINUING TO MAINTAIN THIS HISTORIC PART OF KNOXVILLE. OUR KIDS WANT A PEACEFUL PLACE TO COME AND FEED DUCKS, CATCH FISH OR ADMIRE ITS BEAUTY !!
