Stop spraying the herbicide Roundup in city parks and along the Greenway

Stop spraying the herbicide Roundup in city parks and along the Greenway
The Issue
The long term and often excessive use of the herbicide Roundup Pro, and other glyphosate based herbicides to control weeds in our city parks and along the greenway unnecessarily exposes children, adults, and wildlife to a toxic stew of chemicals.
The chemical solvents and surfacants (the stuff that makes the herbicide stick to plants) that are mixed with the primary chemical glyphosate are not listed on the Round Up label. While there already exists significant evidence that the known active ingredient in Roundup, glyphosate, is linked to endocrine disruption, reduction of aquatic wildlife, and soil degradation, we know next to nothing about the other chemicals that are being sprayed in areas we bring our families and pets to recreate.
Let's stop gambling with our health and the health of our environment and ask that Greensboro Parks and Recreation stop spraying Roundup and other glyphosate based herbicides and adopt a safer and smarter alternative weed control strategy
