I would like to petition for the City of Galveston, TX  and the County of Galveston to leave the statue honoring Confederate soldiers  in front of the Galveston County Courthouse. This is part of the American History, and this is where  federal troops announced the freeing of slaves at the end of the Civil War.  It is important to me, that we have places to go to see this type of history, and to take our children and grandchildren to learn about history.
