We are Nataly, Mariela, Yulixa, and caroline. We are the 11th grade students of Catalyst Maria HS. 
As members of the Chicago Lawn community, we are advocating for Women’s rights/ feminism. As women, this topic is an important one to our community.
We are passionate about this topic because as girls people want us to fit into a role that they think a woman should act and look like, and have previously witnessed and been involved in those stereotypes.

THE PROBLEM
The problem is that women are getting harassed and are being pushed down just because they are women. 
Women are getting insulting for the way they dress to the way they act 
Getting called out in the street for not acting like a ¨lady¨
In the workplace women are pushed down because those in charge think it's ¨better that way¨
This evidence shows that women HAVE to be equals and have to have a safe space where women can be themselves. Women are always the ones to change their environment and their comfort space to place others. Especially those who are in charge in a workplace. 

THE SOLUTION
Therefore, to rectify this problem in our community our solution is as follows: create a safe place for women.
We demand for equality among all women to stop all stereotypes against them.And Provide safety aids for women. The reason for this demand is because women are put on the spot.Put in the position that they have pleasure and follow stereotypes that were made for women when it’s not like that.
The implementation of having equality for women will result in women not feeling attacked anymore and will be free to do as they please.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
As the world  grows we as people need to grow and away we need to grow is by respecting women and their rights more.
If we the Scholars of Catalyst  Maria HS Create a safe place where women can feel safe and appreciated then our community can benefit by letting the women in our community breathe without having to worry about discrimination against them nor being attacked for being a female.

Share and spread awareness of the ways women are being mistreated 
Speak up when you see a women near you being mistreated 
Don’t feed into the mistreatment of women 
Correct you and your friend words towards women never speak down upon women 
To conclude , our goals are: to create a safe environment for women to speak up and be comfortable and confident. 
Ultimately, we can be a positive force for change in our community. In the words of Maya Angelou, “Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women”
